Book Rules
Check Out
1) Use a shelf marker and a bookmark so that you will not lose your place.
2) If you are not going to check something out, return materials to their proper place.
3) If you are going to check something out, bring it to the librarian.
4) Form a line and take turns.
5) If you have checked something out/in and others have not, read quietly until everyone is finished.
Be Responsible
6) Take care of library books and materials while you have them. Keep them from becoming damaged or
lost. If they are checked out under your name, they are your responsibility!
7) If something needs repair, tell the librarian.
Check In
8) Always bring your library books back to the librarian on your next visit. (If you have overdue books
you will not be able to check out more.)
9) Form a line and take turns.
10) If you have checked something in/out and others have not, read quietly until everyone is finished.
Remember
11) You must pay for any books you lose so that the librarian can replace them.
12) Only teachers may check out videotapes, magazines, and reference materials. (If you would like to use these in your classroom, ask your teacher to check them out for you.)
13) If there is a book you would like to read that the library doesn't have, make a suggestion!
