I am very excited about the 2018-19 school year and being a part of the Banks School family! I am a 1992 high school graduate of Pike County High School in Brundidge, Alabama. After graduating, I attended Troy University in Troy, Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1996 and a Master of Science in Education in 2002. After ten years of classroom experience, I decided to pursue a degree in administration. In 2011, I obtained a Master of Science in Instructional Leadership and Administration from Troy University in Dothan, Alabama.
Prior to my arrival at Banks School, I was the Assistant Principal at Goshen Elementary School and Pike County Elementary School. I am married to Elijah Rouse, a Correctional Lieutenant with the Alabama Department of Corrections. We have two children: Uri and Kyah Rouse.
I am a firm believer in the quote by an anonymous writer: "Students don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." It is very important to me to build positive relationships with my students.
