Unit 1 – Week 1

This week and next we are reading “When Charlie McButton Lost Power” by Suzanne Collins. We will focus on some vocabulary words in this story. It would be helpful if you will reinforce the meaning of these words at home with your child. Also, on this newsletter you will find our spelling words for the week. Please practice these words at home as well. The words in italics are our challenge spelling words. Finally, the Amazing Words are the vocabulary words we are practicing to increase vocabulary. Please listen to your child read these words aloud.

Monday – Unit 1 Week 1 in Reading/Chapter 1 in Math/Begin Science Unit
Tuesday – Math Addition Quiz/Library/Signed Papers
Wednesday – Practice Spelling Test/Counseling/Fluency
Thursday – Subtraction Quiz/Writing Quiz/Library
Friday – Mid-Chapter Math Test/Reading Test/STEM Project #2
